The Afrotrans Summer School 2025 in Poland – a week of learning, innovation, and hands-on experience!
From September 18–26, 2025, Gdańsk became a hub of knowledge and international collaboration during the Summer School in Poland, organized by Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT). Participants from various countries had the opportunity to explore the latest solutions transport engineering 🛣️, logistics 📦, road safety 🚦, and interactive teaching methods 🎓.
The week began with a welcome ceremony at GUT’s main building, featuring a speech by Dean Ewa Wojciechowska and presentations by partner universities. Participants then visited the Road Research Laboratory, where they discovered modern technologies used in road construction and maintenance.
Most theoretical sessions and workshops took place in the modern Ekko Innovation Building, offering spaces for interactive lectures and practical workshops. Here, participants developed skills in:

designing engaging and interactive classes,

analyzing and forecasting transport demand,

conducting road safety audits.
As part of practical field activities, participants:

visited the TRISTAR – Integrated Traffic Management System in Gdynia,

toured leading companies: FLEX in Tczew and Intertoll Poland along the A1 motorway,

explored the Vistula River Tunnel, gaining hands-on insight into advanced infrastructure projects.
A week full of lectures, workshops, and field visits concluded with the official closing ceremony of the Summer School, leaving participants with new skills, knowledge, and international experience.
