NexBus: Outcome of the AfroTrans Project in Bafoussam

We are pleased to announce the upcoming launch of NexBus – a modern transport system for pupils and students in Bafoussam, Cameroon. This initiative is a direct result of the implementation of the AfroTrans project, which is co-funded by the European Union. The service is deployed and operated by INTIME.

The official inauguration of the network is scheduled for September 2026. The launch event will be attended by the Governor of the West Region, the Mayor of Bafoussam, and the Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Cameroon.

The implementation of the NexBus system aims to address key mobility challenges faced by the local educational community (pupils, students, and teachers). The main expected impacts include:

  • Reducing daily transport costs for school and university students.

  • Enhancing safety and security during daily commutes to educational institutions.

  • Alleviating urban traffic congestion and promoting sustainable urban mobility.

More detailed information regarding the network’s operations, routes (Line A and Line B), QR-code ticketing technology, and the complete pricing structure for tickets and subscriptions can be found on the attached info poster:
