UNIVERSITÉ DE L’ASSOMPTION AU CONGO

Université de l’Assomption au Congo (UAC) from Democratic Republic of Congo is a young private university that moved from college to university status in 2018. From its inception, the UAC has been characterized by its veneration for Saint Augustine and His intellectual and spiritual heritage. From the 1993-1994 academic year to 2001-2002, UAC was known as the Philosophat Saint Augustin of Bulengera. It was affiliated with the Philosophat Saint Augustine of Kinshasa. In 2002, at the request of the Ministry of Education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Philosophat Saint Augustin of Bulengera was renamed Institut Supérieur Emmanuel d’Alzon de Butembo (ISEAB). In the 2018-2019 academic year, ISEAB changed its name, following Ministerial Order and became the Université de l’Assomption au Congo.
Then it opened the faculty of applied sciences under the accreditation of the Congolese High Education Minister, beside other Faculties such Faculty of Literature with two departments: Communication and information sciences, Philosophy), Faculty of Computer and business, Faculty of Development Sciences, Faculty of Education and psychology. UAC trains undergraduate students in order to become high level engineers.
It is located in Butembo, North -Kivu province. However, its current 950 students enrolled the 2021-2022 academic year come from various DR Congo provinces with forty percent of girls. The mission of the university includes the three main roles attributed to a high education institution, namely formation, research and support to the community.
The university empowers students in the following areas: electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering and Civil engineering. University staff members involved in this project with experience in teaching, research, project management and leadership.
Vision and Mission:
UAC is rooted in the Catholic and Assumptionist intellectual traditions.
It provides education for youth through teaching by:
- training human resources recognized for their academic and professional skills, and civic skills
- combining human and ethical values to enrich and transform society.
Motto :
Noverim Me Noverim Te which can be translated as “May I know myself May I know You, O God”.
