Prof. Dr. Ing. Jean Akilimali Sumaili

UNIVERSITÉ OFFICIELLE DE RUWENZORI

Jean Sumaili is an associated professor of UOR (Université Officielle de Ruwenzori) since 2015 and the former Rector of Mapon University, Kindu, Democratic Republic of Congo (2017-2020).
He graduated in “Sciences Appliquées (option: Electricité)” from the University of Kinshasa, Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), in 1998, and received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
From 2008 to 2009, he worked as Research Assistant with the Politecnico di Torino before joining the Centre for Power and Energy Systems of INESC TEC, Porto (Portugal) as a Senior Research in July 2009.
His research activities and expertise include distribution systems analysis, distributed generation applications, electricity customer classification, renewable energy source integration (namely, photovoltaic systems and wind energy) and large-scale electric grid optimization.
Currently, Prof. Sumaili is also a Researcher with Hydro-Québec Research Centre, Varennes (Canada) and an affiliated Researcher with INESC TEC, Porto (Portugal).

1995-2002 : United Nation Volunteer, Community support in Kampala, and in Lusaka.
2002-2007: Senior Lecturer in Chemistry and Head of the Department of Physical Sciences at Gulu University, Uganda.
2007-2015: Vice Chancellor of Ruwenzori State University (UOR) in Butembo, DRC.
2008 to date: Professor of Kinshasa University and visiting Professor of UOR.

MSc. Kamala Mitume

KAMALA MITUME is currently working as junior lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering at UOR
In 2018 he obtained his Master degree in Specialization of Network Engineering at ISBAT University.
In 2015 he completed  bachelor degree in Computer Engineering at UCBC
Since 2021 he has been working as a network architect for nodinno (node of innovations), a position that has given him extensive skills in the deployment of medium scale network architectures.
His research domains are Wireless Sensor Network, Artificial intelligence, Data Mining and Embedded systems, Cyber security and Cloud computing.
Passionate about IOT and AI, KAMALA MITUME would like to use this project to boost his skills in intelligent roads and traffic management.

C.T. Gervais Mbusa Kisyanga

Mr. Gervais Kisyanga is a civil engineer specializing in electrical engineering, graduated from the Faculty of Applied Sciecnces with the University of Ruwenzori (U.O.R.).
Since 2013, he has been a faculty member in the Polytechnic Department at Ruwenzori University (U.O.R.).
He worked as the academic secretary for the Faculty of Applied Sciecnces at U.O.R from 2013 to 2022.
Mr. Kisyanga is skilled in the installation, sizing, and maintenance of photovoltaic power plants.
His research focuses on the integration of renewable energy into the grid and related areas.

C.T. Viviane Vira Penghele

Viviane Vira has a title Chef des Travaux (C.T) and has been working at UOR (Université Officielle de Rwenzori) since 2012 as Teaching Assistant.
She graduated in "science (specialization: management informatics)" from the University of Kinshasa, Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
From 2010 to 2012, she worked as a data manager with the Office of Studies and Architecture, Sustainable Construction and Ecology in Butembo, DRC.
Currently, she is the faculty secretary of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the Université Officielle de Rwenzori.
Her research interests: Data bases, Big data, Software engineering
