UNIVERSITY OF DSCHANG

The University of Dschang (UDs) is one of the 08 state universities in Cameroon. Created in favor of the university reform by decree n ° 93/026 of January 19, 1993, it inherits the former University Center of Dschang which had an essentially agro-pastoral vocation. To date, height faculties are effectively operating there: the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (FLSH), the Faculty of Economics and Management (FSEG), the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (FSJP), the Faculty of Sciences (FS), the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences (FASA), the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FMPS), the University Institute of Technology (IUT) Fotso Victor in Bandjoun and the Institute of Fine Arts in Foumban (IBAF). The institution has eight campuses in 6 of the 10 regions of the country, namely, educational and research branches in Bambui (North-West), Belabo (East), Ebolowa (South), Maroua (Far North) and Yaoundé -Nkolbisson (Center). The institution supervises about 35,000 Cameroonian and foreign students. Concerning the University Institute of Technology (IUT) Fotso Victor in Bandjoun, there are eight teaching departments: Department of General and Scientific Education, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, Department of Telecommunications and Networks Engineering, Department of Thermal Engineering, Energy and Environment, Department of Marketing Techniques, Accounting and Financial Management. The Department of Civil Engineering focuses on designing and building large projects including roads, bridges, buildings, tunnels and water systems. Interests are oriented towards the following fields:
- Transportation Engineering with focus on the design, the construction, and the maintenance of roads, airports, subway systems, and railroads
- Structural Engineering with focus on the structural design and the analysis of all types of construction projects, from skyscrapers to train tunnels.
- Architectural Engineeringwith special focus on the design and construction of buildings.
